General information:
1. Once the deadline for applications has passed, no change can be made to the candidate’s repertoire.
2. All pieces must be performed from memory, except Sonatas for violin and piano in the Second round.
3. The same piece cannot be played in the different rounds of the Competition.
4. Repeats are left to the discretion of the candidates.
5. The pieces may be performed in any order.
Preliminary round:
1. A specially designated Jury will pre-select candidates based on their documents and video recordings.
2. Candidates must upload two separate high-quality video recordings of their recent performance (no longer than one year ago) without any editing/cutting of image and sound. The videos must be recorded on one well-fixed camera and show candidate’s hands and face clearly visible during the performance.
3. Candidates may record each piece in different places and on different occasions.
4. A video whose quality, visual and/or audio, does not allow the jury to evaluate the candidate’s abilities will be rejected.
5. The programme for the Preliminary round must be performed from memory and consist of the following works:
1. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – First movement with a cadenza from any of following violin concertos:
• No. 1 in B-flat major, KV 207
• No. 2 in D major, KV 211
• No. 3 in G major, KV 216
• No. 4 in D major, KV 218
• No. 5 in A major, KV 219
2. Niccolo Paganini – one caprice from the 24 Caprices for solo violin, Op. 1.*
* The selected caprice must not be repeated in the First round.
6. Candidates selected in the Preliminary round will receive confirmation of admission to the First round by 2 June 2025.
7. All those admitted to the First round must confirm their participation in the Competition by email by 8 June 2025.
First round:
Approximately 30 candidates will be accepted to the First round.
Each candidate is allowed a maximum of 30 minutes of performance.
1. Johann Sebastian Bach – one of the following works:
• Adagio and Fugue from Sonata for solo violin in G Minor, BWV1001,
• Grave and Fugue from Sonata for solo violin in B Minor, BWV1003,
• Adagio and Fugue from Sonata for solo violin in C Major, BWV1006,
• Chaconne from Partita for solo violin in D minor, BWV1004.
2. Niccolo Paganini – one caprice from the 24 Caprices for solo violin, Op. 1.
3. Eugène Ysaÿe – one of the Sonatas for solo violin, Op.27. (Except Sonata No.1)
4. Myroslav Skoryk – Caprice for solo violin *
* Candidates are expected to use a new edition provided by V. Piriyev Edition (Visit Website)
Second round:
Approximately 15 candidates will be accepted to the Second round.
Each candidate is allowed a maximum of 45 minutes of performance.
1. One of the Sonatas for violin and piano of the 19th or 20th centuries.
2. Mikhail Fichtenholz – one of the following arrangements:

3. One or more works for violin solo or violin and piano chosen by candidate, except works that candidates themselves have composed or arranged.
Final round:
3 candidates will be accepted to the Final round.
Accompanied by the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Oksana Lyniv.
